President Claudia Sheinbaum leads her morning conference from the National Palace on January 20, accompanied by the head of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco), Iván Escalante. This time, the topic discussed was the 'Mexico Embraces You' operation, aimed at providing support to migrants deported by Trump upon their return to Mexico.

Among the benefits that Mexican migrants will receive is the Bienestar Paisano card with 2,000 pesos to assist with transportation, as well as other programs such as Pension Bienestar, Young People Building the Future, Women with Wellbeing, and support for single mothers. Additionally, they will be assisted in obtaining important documentation, such as voter ID, birth certificate, and CURP, and they will be granted access to health services and assistance in case of unemployment.

On the other hand, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, highlighted the preparation of the foreign ministry and the consulates in the United States for possible massive deportations. He assured that Mexicans will receive support regardless of their immigration status and reminded them of their rights, including the right to remain silent and request the presence of a lawyer if detained.

Regarding the work of Profeco, Ivan Escalante announced the continuation of the 'Do Not Overcharge Here' operation, aimed at identifying gas stations with high prices in Mexico City and the State of Mexico. It has been observed that the average costs of regular gasoline range between 22.22 and 26.53 pesos, and diesel between 24.29 and 27.83 pesos, pointing out some stations with higher prices such as Mobil Occidente in Morelia, Petro Seven in Monterrey, and G500 in Huimanguillo.

In her morning conference, Sheinbaum also addressed a plan prior to Donald Trump's return to the White House, alleging good communication and preparation for possible deportations of migrants, emphasizing the importance of staying in touch with Mexicans in the United States regarding immigration situations. Data on recent deportations and the contributions of Mexican migrants to the United States will be provided.
